pray

Holy God,

We thank you for kingdom busy taking root in our world.
Even a mustard seed can grow into something much larger than itself,
and we are reminded that our contributions to your mission,
however small we might think them to be,
have much larger repercussions in this world.

We thank you that in you there is always life and growth.
Your kingdom will not remain a seed, but it will grow into a plant,
offering life and hope for all.

The fruit of your branches are love, and we bear them for one another
as we are joined to you through your Son, who calls us to unity.

We thank you that in the branches of your great tree,
which is your kingdom, there are places for rest and shelter
for the most vulnerable in your kingdom.
We thank you that World Development & Relief have heard your call to action,
and partnered with the gardeners who sow seeds and nurture the plants
that offer life to all your children, through food and water security,
through education and empowerment, through justice and security.

Remind us that we are all called to mission.
It is our actions in your world that build your kingdom.
Convict us by the power of your Holy Spirit to become planters of the seeds of your kingdom,
so that they may continue to take root in the world,
and your vision of unity and abundance may be realised.

Amen.
