Remember The Prisoners

Sunday saw the beginning of Church in Chains Lent Prayer Project. Over the six weeks of Lent, this project brings us together to pray over the lives of six believers who have been imprisoned because of their Christian faith.

WEEK 1 – Zafar Bhatti (Pakistan)

Zafar Bhatti (62)  has been in prison since July 2012, falsely accused of sending blasphemous text messages. He is in poor health as he continues to wait for his appeal against the death sentence to be heard. Zafar’s wife Nawab (75) is also in poor health.

Prayer points for Zafar:

Sunday: Pray for medical treatment and healing for Zafar.   

Monday: Pray for hope and encouragement for him and Nawab.  

Tuesday: Pray that Zafar would be acquitted and released soon.  

Wednesday: Ask God to sustain and provide for Nawab.   

Thursday: Pray for better health for Nawab.   

Friday: Ask God to protect Zafar from extremist attacks.   

Saturday: Pray for reform of Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
