Love through Childcare

“Precious Lambs” is a daycare run by the Methodist Church in Guyana.

It’s hosted by the congregation in Rosignol Methodist Church, but you don’t have to be a Methodist to benefit from the service it offers. Precious Lambs daycare is available for the whole community, and provides a safe environment for children to play and learn together.

The church knows that this is a valuable service, but they also recognise that many in the local community can’t afford to send their children to a daycare. To ensure that it’s accessible to everyone, the Methodist Church subsidises the cost for the children who attend.

By providing this service, Methodists are not only meeting the practical needs of children and parents , they are demonstrating God’s love in a very practical way. It’s also an effective way of encouraging the local community to engage with the church: when the local church hosts performances by the children from the daycare, their parents are happy to come along and spend time inside a church that they might otherwise never have visited.
