Enoch leads Methodist Relief, the development wing of Methodist Church Ghana, whose key priorities include clean water access and livelihoods. Over many years, WDR has worked alongside Methodist Relief in a variety if programmes (still ongoing): woodlot (growing trees for profit), rainwater collection, crop diversification, bee keeping, literacy and numeracy and clean water and sanitation. In 2023/24, supported Methodist Relief in the training of farmers in new sustainable techniques, an irrigation farming scheme in Donkorkrom and the continuation of the literacy and numeracy work, as well as part-funding of a Programme Officer’s salary.
WDR Convener Rev Paul Maxwell visited Enoch and the team at Methodist Relief in 2024.
“I had been unemployed for two years but now I’m planning to become a full-time farmer. I’m grateful to Methodist Relief and WDR for the woodlot project. The project will decrease my costs and increase my income.”
